Something More 2017 – Edinburgh City-Wide Mission Week – Day 2

This week the MOET team are in Edinburgh to help with Something More, a week of events put on by all the different CUs in Ednibugh.  At the end of day two (Tuesday), Heike writes…

“I came to the UK to investigate Christianity”, that’s what an international student from China told me last night. She loved being at the international dinner and the evening event and promised to come back every day.  Today she said: “Tomorrow I will come back with more questions.”

It’s great to be here in Edinburgh for the city-wide mission, “Something More”.  CUs from Edinburgh University, Herriot-Watt, Napier and Queen Margaret are doing lunchbars and first contacts on their campuses throughout the city. For the evening events they all gather in the beautiful Greyfriars Kirk in the centre of Edinburgh, an attractive venue to invite people into.

We had a good start on Monday with different lunchbars and an evening event, “Something more than coincidence – am I valuable?”  It’s great to have a huge team of CU guests here: UCCF staff and relay workers from all over the country, as well as internationals from Holland, Belgium and a team from Spain.  Hearing how all the lunchbars at different campuses went and seeing how God was at work in conversations with students throughout the city is really encouraging.  Tonight we continued with, “Something more than a chemical reaction – why do I love?”, an evening with drama, songs and a testimony from a student. She had been sitting at the same place a year ago, confused and unsure about Jesus, became a Christian and was baptised last Sunday. The evening moved people and provoked good conversations. Please, pray that people would come back to the events and that God would move the hearts of many students in Edinburgh this week.
